I may have entered into this conversation a little late, but I think that a 
newbie's site would be awesome. The current FBSD newbie's page just isn't 
enough for a newbie to pick up on...

Also, just telling about the syntax and the grammer of programs isn't 
enough, in my opinion. For the newbie, concepts like NFS and what a "server" 
is needs to be included. Concepts can make it so that the newbie can 
understand enough to go ahead and read the man pages and know what to do.

So rarely do I find material that explains the concepts behind the software. 
Maybe this is a good place to start.
