A patch is now available at
http://people.freebsd.org/~anholt/X/xorg-server-update.diff
and is waiting to be committed.
I don't know whether it will fix your problem, but it fixed mine (I have
the 830M chip).

Yes, the signal 11 is a symptom.

Yes, the driver is broken. You need to use ``Options "NoAccel"'' (without
the outer quotes). I'm having trouble with my web server (or DNS) so I
can't publish my xorg.conf file...
