Sorry for the off topic post/reply.

So, I created a /boot/loader.conf, and I enabled the ispfw option. (Did
nothing for my tape drive problem, OBTW. I now have it on a separate card, a
Symbios 810) However, I noticed that the sound no longer works on my
machine. I have a Miata with the on-board ESS1888 sound card. What option
would I enable to get said sound card to work again?

I tried just enabling all of them with the last option 'snd_load="YES"' and
that crashes my machine upon boot-up with a memory management fault.

Any ideas?

TIA,

AJ Schroeder

I'll try... (I'll be able to do it on wednesday).

I loaded ispfw.ko (w/o any difference).

Preloaded elf kernel "kernel" at 0xfffffc0000600000.
Preloaded elf module "ispfw.ko" at 0xfffffc00006000c0.
