The communication channels seem well open on this subject, perhaps
the two of you can come up with a suitable chapter for the multimedia
section?

Personally, I think we need a usb 'page' or 'pages' but not a chapter,
mainly because many vendors document USB, we do not seem to.  Off on
another note, scanners with KDE and GNOME would be a good section,
and while those can fit under the multimedia, the USB under multimedia
would be very optional.
