The existing list was sorted except for RANLIB being grouped with AR, CPP after CXX*, LD after LEX, LINTL* after LINTO* (flags are grouped with commands so the combined sorting is not fully alphabetical). Only NM is totally disordered (added at the end instead of inserted). The unsorted macros are associated with more namespace pollution than the sorted ones. Bruce
