btw i've noticed that patches for 2.1 branch aren't posted anymore.
It is not hard (usually) to apply patches from 2.2 to 2.1 but sometimes
(i'd even say often) it has to be done manually. 

I am fully satisfied with 2.1.7.1 system and i do not want to upgrade.
