Maybe, but my ASUS P5a with Acer ATA seems to have now failed. Kernel
updated yesterday at about 18:00 UTC. When probing the CD, it get a
message (after a long pause) that there was a malloc failure and that
the queue was frozen.

I am not near that systems at the moment, so I can't capture dmesg or
similar output. I am running atapicam. I can get full details (and try
without atapicam) this evening.
