(ACK! Please don't send HTML-ized e-mail to the list!) If you could be a little more helpful in explaining just what kind of = problem you are having, I'm sure that either I or someone else on the = would be happy to help you as best we can. =20 For right now, have you tried creating the boot floppies and using = those during the installation? --- Andy -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG = [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Joe Wamsley Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2001 1:07 PM To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: FreeBSD 4.2 Reboot Computer during installation prob Having trouble getting FreeBSD to initialize setup on my 200MHZ = computer. Every time it gets to the boot load part to start the = installation it will either lock up my computer or will keep rebooting = it. I'm doing the installation with booting from CD. So I figured maybe = I got a bad cd so tried it on my 450MHZ under VMware and installed = FreeBSD with no prob, except for the fact it didn't like my network card = so I just disabled that. Would use it under the VMware but I also like = to use a graphical interface as well and without having the network card = working it can't connect to the net from my DHCP server. So there is no = way I can load the vmware-tools for it. If no one can figure out the = prob why the 200MHZ is doing what it is, then could someone tell me how = to read the vmware-tools from a floppy disk and copy it to the hard = drive under VMware. =20 Thanks, Joe To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
