CPU enumeration happens by repeatedly descending through the tree -- you will note that the largest value attained by i gets larger every loop. This breaks down at the last loop where it would have gotten to CPU 71 but instead stalls. This is confusing to me since it had already gotten past CPU 66 a few times...
