Hmmm... 

This is really a pain in the butt.  If the appropriate people are
monitoring this list, would it be possible to update the handbook web
pages as well as the man pages?  There are no examples at all in the man
pages, and searching the list archives yields a huge number of questions
in this area but few answers.
