  you can place your own .mc in /usr/src/contrib/sendmail/cf/cf and
  work from there.  it will not be blown away until such time as you
  tell CVS to blow it away.  i have a few files in my tree that are
  not standard.  i use "cvs -q update -PAd" daily.
