I started off from BDECFLAGS. My unreliable memory tells me that I added some extra bondage and discipline compared to BDE, but maybe it was only functionality and portability improvements. Anyway, my main point is to trust the compiler. The compiler is your friend. The more bugs you find before you run the program the better.
