However, I'm trying to find out if the file /etc/rc.conf.local is actually used for anything different from what the file /etc/rc.conf is used for in modern FreeBSD systems. If it isn't, then it's not part of modern FreeBSD, the only reason we source it is to protect legacy configurations and it doesn't deserve any mention beyond what I propose in my patch. I'm looking for feedback on the first of those two paragraphs, not so much for the second. :-) Ciao, Sheldon.
