https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=245646 Bug ID: 245646 Summary: dumpdev description in rc.conf(5) doesn't say which devices are suitable Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Manual Pages Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: pauamma@gundo.com CC: doc@FreeBSD.org "If the value of this variable is "AUTO", the first suitable swap device listed in /etc/fstab will be used as dump device." This, however, doesn't say which devices are suitable and which aren't. The conclusion of the IRC discussion that started this was that it's unclear what devices are suitable short of reading dumpon source code, but that GELI devices are definitely *un*suitable, and the variable description should reflect that, at least. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.help
