I thought this might be a mobile type problem since I'm not seeing it on my 4.4-stable desktop system. The laptop hangs as it tries to mount /. I am not using any pccards but I do have that capability enabled in the kernel. I am wondering if I should disable all such devices in the kernel and remake it. BTW, my old 4.3-stable kernel still works, so I am assuming it is some sort of kernel problem. Thanks, Rob.
