Hallo, Perhaps you'll find it helpful - so I would to let you know about a few issues, which I've encountered during my attempt to install 7.1: - it's always "hanging up" itself while trying to run system with ACPI (default). But about ACPI-related problems with my GA-6BX7 mobo I was writing several months ago to freebsd-acpi, and personally to Mr. Nate Lawson - with ACPI disabled (option 2) I was able to boot - but there are still "out of inodes" problem, that's making installation impossible. Even, if I tried to use newfs with lowest values possible (f.e. -i4096 -b8192 -f1024), it's still complaining, that it ran out of inodes (installation variant "user + Xwindow" - not "all available packages"). I'm using SiI3512 SATA controller, with Barracuda 80 GB attached. Size of FreeBSD partition was almost 20 GB - and it's unable to complete the installation. - there are a little problems using fdisk - after quitting it, the installer utility sometimes doesn't want to advance to next step (disklabel), when I didn't make any changes to partitions Didn't have any chance to detect more problems - although the first two seems to be pretty serious ones, because, in the end, I was unable to install 7.1. I'm sorry to say, that the 6.x line didn't have such issues (although not tried the newest 6.4). -- pozdrawiam / regards Zbigniew Baniewski
