I would be happy to do what I could, but I know for a fact that Daniel 
will have a specific application for it & will want to test it ASAP.

Someone like Genesis that wants to ship a basically stock 2.2.x system 
with device support for custom hardware would be thrilled to be able to 
bolt their support onto GENERIC without having to rebuild kernels.
