The following reply was made to PR i386/112580; it has been noted by GNATS. From: John Merryweather Cooper <john_m_cooper@yahoo.com> To: FreeBSD gnats submit <FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org> Cc: Subject: misc/112580: BTX Halted on HP DV6255 Notebook Date: Wed, 03 Oct 2007 22:38:51 -0700 An essentially identical problem shows up on all dv9000 series HP Laptops (both AMD and Intel CPUs). If <spacebar> is pressed just after the BIOS splash screen disappears, and then <enter> is pressed at the boot slice prompt, the boot continues normally and the system will both install and run (with the same workaround for the boot each time). jmc
