Hi Jud, /etc/make.conf has already been edited to reflect the fact that I'm running XFree86-4 (I believe the line reads: XFree86_VERSION 4, and its uncommented). I'll give "/usr/ports/x11/wrapper make deinstall clean && make reinstall clean" a go ater on and see how it goes. Thanks for the info.
