I have installed FreeBSD 2.2.2 and the system appears to be stable.
I have recompiled the kernel, without errors, to match my hardware
config. I have installed XFreeBSD and it works well, except the
distribution for 2.2.2 is broken, so I retrieved the binaries from
ftp.xfree86.org and installed those. I guess the next step is to
begin installing and compiling the various programs that I need on
this box. I will report back with any positive and negative findings.
