ports.cgi is operates on some snapshot of ports/INDEX file. By
default now using 4.5-RELEASE's INDEX. To get more recent
information on ports you need to choose -STABLE's INDEX at least.

Actually I think it's not correct and will change default search
criteria to -STABLE's one.
