I've got this headless (serial console) box that lives in upstairs in our local NPR radio station which handles it's live streaming. i take my trusty laptop up there when time to do system maintenance (installworld/kernel). the only thing setting that box apart from all my other freebsd boxes is it's /boot.config (causing it use serial console). when i ssh into that box for other tasks (which won't require me being at *the* console), i get the ubiquitous "top: nlist failed" messages, which really sucks as i'd like to be able to keep an eye on icecast/liveice/lame. this box has been doing this since becoming headless (back in 4.2-STABLE) and has continued so until its current state (4.4-STABLE). ideas? -- ------------------------------------ Robin P.
