I found another way to confuse cvs into bringing back dead files: `cvs update -DP', where `D' is a typo for `d'. `D date' sets the date to update from, and -DP apparently sets the date to update from to `P' which is interpreted as the current local time, less 25 hours, rounded down to the nearest hour (gak!). This brings back 114 dead files in /usr/src. Other weird dates: -D0 25+ hours ago -D1 24+ hours ago -D2 23+ hours ago ... -DP same as -D0 -DQ same as -D0 -DPQ unparseable Bruce
