Well, the core team just added to that ill will.  Deliberately.

I have just received a voice phone call from one of the core members asking 
me to leave FreeBSD, transition our machines off the operating system, 
and walk away.

Obviously, I will do none of the above.

But I thought you should know that the response of the core team is to these
kinds of issues.

A parallel code track will be online within a few days for those who believe
that THIS kind of response is unwarranted under ANY circumstances.
