hi all, I've tried to install the recent FreeBSD 4.4 on my Compaq Armada E500 laptop. In the beginning it was a failure as the installer locked at some point of the setup. Later I relized that the problem is caused by connecting an external keyboard to the laptop (e.g if it's docked or a keyboard is plugged when the machine is undocked). Connecting an external mouse doesn't make any problems (there is only one external PS/2 connector). Finally I managed to install the system (with the built-in kb), but the problem still exists as booting the machine with external kb locks the computer around displaying the login prompt. I've gone back to 4.2 to test but it produces similar behaviour. Can somebody give me any advice? I would be happy to help with testing ideas or send you any additional info. please CC as I'm not subscribed to the list.
