OS version: FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE
Program: /usr/libexec/ftpd
Problem: When using Mozilla/Netscape as client to access
non-anonymous account on FreeBSD ftp server,
client presents directory file as binary file for
download instead of displaying directory contents.
Detailed description:
A problem appears to exist with using Mozilla/Netscape to access a
non-anonymous account on a FreeBSD 4.8R FTP server using syntax
ftp://[<password>:]<user>@<host>. Authentication is successful, then
a dialog box is displayed asking to download the directory file as a
binary file. FreeBSD 4.7R (/usr/libexec/ftpd) does not have this
problem.
Browsers tested:
Mozilla 1.0, 1.2, 1.3 FAILED
Netscape 7.0.2 FAILED
Netscape 4.7.9 OK
MS Explorer 6 OK
Konqueror 3.0.3 OK
Regards,
Mike Lambert
