The request was simply to take out the : additional arguments that were specified to amd along with ${amdflags} : - an obviously bogus thing to do in the case where the user wants : total control over exactly which flags are passed. In my example : entry, I do specify `-l syslog', so the user will DTRT if they just : uncomment my example (changing my.domain, of course) and use it. i think he means to change the "-l /var/log/amd.log" in /etc/rc then calling amd (which i added some weeks before) to "-l syslog" so that amd logs via syslog - this would result in an aditional entry in /etc/syslog.conf for amd.* i think while i'm at it - can please somebody look if i added newsyslog.conf to the /etc Makfile - joerg said that it was'nt there and add it - because i'm currently ill and i'm not connected long enough to do it my self, also the connection to freefall is currently that bad that it is impossible for me to da there something usefull - like committing - i hope it changes in the future and as last part - i have reworked the /etc/[rc,rc.local,rc.i386,netstart, profile, csh.login] scripts and changed them to a better output (all within 80 cols and so on) - i only have to adapt them to -curent (i have them running under 2.1.0 currently) - if anybody is interested in testing and checking them - send me a mail t -- thomas graichen graichen@mail.physik.fu-berlin.de graichen@FreeBSD.org perfection is reached, not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away antoine de saint-exupery
