https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=221772 Bug ID: 221772 Summary: vt(4) lacks (some?) semi-graphics, causing visible regression to the curses apps Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: sobomax@FreeBSD.org CC: ed@FreeBSD.org Flags: mfc-stable9-, mfc-stable10- Created attachment 185723 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=185723&action=edit Current look with vt(4) + xterm With the vt(4) only supporting xterm emulation, we are observing some regressions of the console-based ncurses UI that we have to provision the system for the last 12 years. As such I am curious if there is a way to get the missing elements back with some terminfo / ncurses magic and if not is there any plans to fix those at some point? With the overall direction of obsoleting syscons(4) in favour of vt(4), it's really sad something that has been flawlessly worked for the last two decades regressing just like that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
