Yes, I can write via NFS to the file system in /mnt, even though it isn't
supposed to be exported.  I can also do that even if the V4: line is set to
/mnt.

However, if I try to mount a file system that's under the V4 root but isn't
configured in /etc/exports at all, for example /var/tmp, then the client indeed
can't browse it.  df works, but ls does not.  So I don't think there's a
general "nfsv4 exports everything" bug, just a specific bug for file systems
that fial VFS_MOUNT.
