Brian, I tried quoting it based on looking at the source, that made ppp hang. I'll try escaping it, thanks. I'm not sure this feature is worth it..not like people write big ppp.conf's needing heavy per line to the right commenting they can't just put above the line do they?..and you break all netcom users.. Hm.. I just looked in /home/ncvs/usr.sbin/ppp/README*,v, didn't see any mention.
