FreeBSD's server-side support is based on GPL'ed code originally written
for Linux. It really needs its own implementation that is not subject to
the GPL.
wpaul's ypserv code went into the tree many moons ago.

For the time being, seek out a local Sun machine and read the
manuals for there.

Neither Sun nor this author have found a clean way to handle
the problems that occur when ypbind cannot find its server
upon bootup.
