It looks like that hpijs driver is a suitable filter. The problem seems
in configuration somewhere
to set temporary input/output to /dev/fd for gs, who either cannot find
the device or open it.
The rest messages are related to this error.
I have not idea how this was set. Maybe someone on the list may help.
