Heh, I didn't notice this because I do have 16 char usernames on my -Stable system. :) Actually I would really like to see more flexibility in spacing for the various displays that involve usernames. At compile time these apps should take the spacing from /usr/src/include/utmp.h (or maybe /sys/sys/param.h, I'm still not sure how those two work together) instead of making any assumptions about the size of usernames, even in -Current. > Also, I had to do a MAKEDEV after upgrading to 2.2.6-BETA from a > two-week-old 2.2.5-STABLE because the keyboard was dead in X11 othwerise. > I think this should be mentioned in the documentation somewhere (that a > MAKEDEV is needed after an upgrade). It is. Take a look at the "Upgrading freebsd from source" tutorial, http://www.freebsd.org/docs.html.
