It depends on what you consider "work"?

If the Python 2.7 restriction is removed and *only* the TKAGGBACKEND option is
used, then the port builds and works with Python 3.5 and 3.6.

Hovewer, the default configuration (which also has GTKBACKEND and GTKAGGBACKEND
options enabled does not build).
