I'm not really pro this or contra that.  The M68K series was a very
good design when it came out, and the 8086 was pretty rough by
comparison, but nowadays the register model isn't very important to
anybody except compiler writers.  For whatever reasons, Intel has made
the grade, whereas Motorola hasn't.  I have more interesting things to
worry about.
