I want to give a small response to this patch for the good old Pentiums (I'm running the Soyo-5TH5 with two of this processors: Pentium/P55C). Dmesg+ mptable can be found for this Board at the Socket-7-Section on my website[1]. I applied it to my 4.7-Release-installation. In my opinion: The patch works great, the usability on my desktop feels much higher (I'm using KDE3.03), and the console seems to work better, too. I'm highly recommend it for those old systems! -Gregor.
