Hello,
I had some troubles using the embedded "AMD PCNet/PCI" NIC of an ancient HP PC
(these troubles were partially corrected when using an updated BIOS)
The chip is probed correctly with the (now-obsolete) lnc driver :
lnc0: <PCNet/PCI Ethernet adapter> port 0xf8e0-0xf8ff mem 0xfedff400-0xfedff41f
irq 10 at device 8.0 on pci0
lnc0: PCnet-PCI II address 08:00:09:bb:26:3a
lnc0: driver is using old-style compatability shims
(this is for a kernel with lnc and without pcn)
burt it is not seen with the new pcn :
pcn0: couldn't map ports/memory
pci0: <unknown card> (vendor=0x1022, dev=0x2000) at 8.0
(tis is for a kernel with pcn and without lnc)
if this is only due to a incorrect indentification, here is the result of pciconf -l :
chip0@pci0:0:0: class=0x060000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x122d8086 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00
xl0@pci0:6:0: class=0x020000 card=0x905510b7 chip=0x905510b7 rev=0x30 hdr=0x00
xl1@pci0:7:0: class=0x020000 card=0x900410b7 chip=0x900410b7 rev=0x04 hdr=0x00
lnc0@pci0:8:0: class=0x020000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x20001022 rev=0x16 hdr=0x00
none0@pci0:13:0: class=0x030000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x88115333 rev=0x00
hdr=0x00
isab0@pci0:15:0: class=0x060100 card=0x00000000 chip=0x122e8086 rev=0x02
hdr=0x00
atapci0@pci0:15:1: class=0x010180 card=0x00000000 chip=0x12308086 rev=0x02
hdr=0x00
All of this is with 4.2-RC1, hot from the CD-ROM.
Thanks in advance if the chip can be used with pcn
