I like a good round of IBM bashing as much as the next guy :-) But I think your expectations for warranty repair is a little out of whack. I agree that seven days without a laptop is a long time, but I don't expect expedited service without paying for it (either on a case by case basis or with a service contract). If your laptop is critical to your work, you should be prepared to pay for expedited service.
