The dotfile generator does indeed supply a pretty cute approach to solving the problem of creating generic config file editors. Powerful enough to do a kernel configurator in? I don't know - I haven't looked at it *that* closely. I wouldn't discourage anyone else from doing so, however. :) Jordan
