I don't know what else to try. Any thoughts? This happened to me, but only _after_ I ran firefox as root once. My shameless hack to fix this was to: $ cd /usr/X11R6/lib/firefox $ rm -R * $ portupgrade -f firefox However now every time I start firefox it says: > Extension System Warning: Failed to set up default extensions files > probably because you do not have write privileges to this location. > While you can run Firefox like this, it is recommended that you run it > at least once with privileges that allow it to generate these initial > files to improve start performance.
