As well as with your experiences, I can't seem to boot two sets of FreeBSD-5.3 REL CD-ROM sets from different suppliers. Here's what I get with any of the 5.3 REL installation cd's: > >Just at the point where you'd expect the /sbin/loader bit to start that goes into the FreeBSD boot process, I get lots of (what appears to be hex numbers) gibberish scrolling up the screen. What I was able to do is successfully install MS Windows 2K Pro, 2K Server & Fedora Core-3 on the same hardware over the last few hours - in fact, its now running Fedora Core-3 (apparently) happily. I've attached the dmesg from the Fedora install for anyone that might be intested in what the problem might be. > >Regards, > >Stacey > > > >>Any ideas? >> >>More detailed specs on the machine: >> >>- Tyan Tiger 133 (S1834 Rev G) >>- 2xPIII 700/100/256 , 2G RAM, Promise TX2000, 2xMaxtor Plus 8 ATA-133 40G >> >>regards >> >>Mark >>_______________________________________________ >>freebsd-stable@freebsd.org mailing list >>http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-stable >>To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-stable-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >> >> >>------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> >>_______________________________________________ >>freebsd-stable@freebsd.org mailing list >>http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-stable >>To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-stable-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >> >> I didn't have any problems with my Tiger 133, although I am running a SCSI disk setup.
