Jim, Hmmm. With the F-Secure SSH client (the non-GPL DataFellows client) all I did was remove the CR/LF from the exported pub key block and manually pasted it in to the authorized_keys2 file. This worked fine for that client, but does not work with the pub key exported from MacSSH. I did not know about this conversion process. The pub key string from MacSSH *looks* the same, but perhaps this is the problem. The error message on the server does seem to suggest that there is some problem with the format of the key.
