I wasn't blaming SMP (though I suspect there are SMP problems because of the sync code reentrancy because it's a kernel thread). Now on to more detailed questions: 1) Is this NFSv3? 2) If so, have you applied my LEASE patches? 3) Have you applied David Greenman's object locking patch? 4) Are you using mmap on an NFS mounted drive?
