Now the junk is not removed if the make is aborted while the junk exists. It might be even better to strip the path prefix in mk_cmds so that the linking convolutions are not required for std_rqs.ct. compile_et already seems to strip the path prefix, so the linking convolutions are not required for ss_et.c.
