Hello,
I'm trying the hostap option of wi driver and encountering the following
problem :
> ifconfig wi0 ssid 101 mediaopt hostap
ifconfig: SIOCSIFMEDIA: Device not configured
> ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
wi0: flags=8842<BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
ether 00:03:47:b4:8a:c1
media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect (DS/11Mbps)
status: no carrier
ssid 101 1:101
stationname "FreeBSD WaveLAN/IEEE node"
channel 8 authmode OPEN powersavemode OFF powersavesleep 100
wepmode OFF weptxkey 1
ep0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 192.168.0.13 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255
ether 00:00:86:53:74:3e
So hostap is definitely not activated.
Any idea to get this working please ?
Thanks
Eric Masson
