Maybe there's something in the coffee. :) The CVS tree would remain as it is right how. There would be an extract process to build the packages out of the CVS tree, similar to what make release does, just more to it. As I sense that there's no consensus here right now, I'm willing to concede at this moment, though I'm willing to be involved in any long-term discussions about this. As BSDi and FreeBSD have plans to merge their source trees over time, I'm sure that this issue will be revisited.
