What's wrong with the hordes of free software which are *already* bundled with FreeBSD and will do what you require? For instance, install ImageMagick and type 'convert X: capture.png'. Click the crosshair in the window you want to capture (or on the root window to capture the entire screen). Wait a few seconds. Admire the result with 'display capture.png'. -- "I have a closed mind.
