If you want to find out > why, I suggest you check out the ATA archives at ftp://fission.wdc.com. Yes, it's a fine standard :-). It specifies the necessary wait as 31 seconds (max), while for SCSI we can only guess that 15 seconds is enough for Joe SCSI device (see the GENERIC config). Brucehome | help
