Silo overflows on a PC-CARD modem is a normal thing, since PC serial cards don't use fast interrupts like the built-in serial ports. (Doing so is a hard enough problem that no-one has attempted it). Also, ou may not have seen them in 3.3-PAO because I think the PAO patches actually removed the printf from the driver ;(.
