I adjusted my BIOS (SOYO Dragon Platinum) to enable only the Primary IDE + SATA and now I can see all drives on FreeBSD-5-CURRENT. However, the dmesg output looks a little weird: ad2: 76319MB <ST380013AS> [155061/16/63] at ata1-master SATA150 ad3: 76319MB <ST380013AS> [155061/16/63] at ata1-slave SATA150 ad4: 76319MB <ST380013AS> [155061/16/63] at ata2-master SATA150 ad6: 76319MB <ST380013AS> [155061/16/63] at ata3-master SATA150 All 4 drives are plugged in to the Silicon Image controller (4 ports). I'm of course happy to install a PCI-based SATA controller, once I'm certain about which is best recommended for FreeBSD-5. The jury seems out on Highpoint and Promise. Anyone care to comment? The dmesg output should probably read master/slave master/slave... ? Thanks.
